Welcome to Zauth, we are an online magazine dedicated to discussing postmodern culture, Christ, and the church. We believe the postmodern world must be embraced, loved, and given a great big hug. As with every generation and mindset, there is some bad that comes along with the good. We tend to focus on the latter. A postmodern mind questions every beleif system, not just Christianity. This is a good thing. It brings the world closer to the days of the early church.
The church is beginning to look different in the 21st century. No longer is it relegated to big buildings with a huge staff. The church is in the process of leaving the building. Some established congregations have understood this for a long time, thus, the creation of wonderful small group programs. Those same congregations are now taking Jesus to the streets, to their neighbors, to the marginalizied of soceity, those on drugs and those living in shelters and underneath bridges, and others who don’t fit nicely into a well-dressed suburban style of Christianity.
Listen closely to our world. Do you hear that sound? That is the sound of someone calling out for help. They need you. Hey, it may even be you. I know it’s sometimes me. Confusing? It shouldn’t be. Christians of the 21st century need to be authentic because we all have problems and struggles. The unchurched and non-religious among us will find it refreshing when Christians admit their struggles, which will demonstrate we don’t have every answer, while still holding onto the only true answer… JESUS.
Peace,
Brian Humek

Latest Article - The American Dream by Brian Humek
Brian Humek asks a lot of questions in this article about how we live our lives and treat others. Could this article be confused with preaching? Maybe. Life may be pretty comfortable living in the suburbs with a two car garage and a high definition flat screen televison, but even those households could have trouble brewing inside. Doing good for God doesn’t always have to happen in the inner city. If you live in one of those nice new suburban neighborhoods, you can help do God’s will, right next door.

Book Review - Beyond Your Backyard by Tom Ellsworth
Brian Humek reviews this outstanding bundle of encouragement to serve others which is conveniently disguised as a paperback book. Standard Publishing has done it again. They have taken the work and heart of a minister and had him translate that into words. It’s often difficult to translate actions into words, but Tom does a brilliant job with Beyond Your Backyard. Book Review - Getting Rid of the Gorilla by Brian Jones
Brian Humek reviews this offering from Standard Publishing.
Hariy people, this book is for you, but only if you have an unforgiving heart. The gorilla in this book is an analogy for the type of heart that refuses to forgive, the kind of heart we have all possessed at one time or another. If your life is peppered with sarcastic remarks, distance from others, and rage, you may still posess such a heart.

I used to stop in at our local Tom Thumb Grocery store just to read chapters of this book. It wasn’t the most comfortable or convenient way to check out what Brian McLaren had to say, but I did find it interesting. Rick Stillwell probably read this book in more comfortable surroundings, and here is what he has to say about The Secret Message of Jesus.

Latest Devotional - Where Are My Emails? by Brian Humek
Have you ever had problems receiving your e-mails? If you spend a lot of time on the computer, you can probably relate to my situation. I never thought explaining my problem to customer service would be as difficult as explaining the resurrection of Jesus to a skeptic, but it was.
